Previously curated by: Joel Humphries and Upasana Papadopoulos

The Waiting Room Project is a liminal space located in the Sydney Sexual Health Centre, of Sydney Hospital. As a way of alleviating the anxiety of a clinical waiting room, the project aims to display contemporary art that changes the way the space is occupied.

From 2018 to early 2020, the Waiting Room Project was coordinated by Upsana Papadopoulos and Joel Humphries. From September 2020 to January 2022, Natalie Tso and Joey Sim became the caretakers of the space. The current caretakers, Melanie Raveendran, Sehej Sembhi, Kaylee Rankin and Sarvika Mishra took over activities in January 2022.

The Waiting Room Project is the only art space with new and regular exhibitions in a sexual health centre in Australia.
