Working with industrial underlay and other ready-made materials, Paula McCambridge transforms the Waiting Room at the Sydney Sexual Health Clinic, into a site-specific space of playfulness, intrigue and inquiry. McCambridge evokes the sexual-pun and common sexual euphemisms by use of this most unlikely and functional material, encouraging us to examine our own complex relationships to sexuality and making visible what is usually suppressed, derided or censored.
